Great day as Seamus and Kathleen drive in

On Sunday morning Mountain View golf club members started the 2012 golfing year in earnest when incoming joint Captains Seamus O’Brien and Kathleen Lanigan drove into office.

On Sunday morning Mountain View golf club members started the 2012 golfing year in earnest when incoming joint Captains Seamus O’Brien and Kathleen Lanigan drove into office.

Play was delayed for an hour due to frost. On a sunny but cool morning both Captains had good drives straight down the first fair way after which 88 people took part in a four person team scramble. The members finished their game in glorious sunshine and conditions that were perfect for golf. An enjoyable day was had by all.

The presentation of the prizes took was held in the clubhouse after refreshments. Captains Seamus and Kathleen expressed their delight with the huge number that took part in the competition.

Course management, and in particular course superintendent Edward Power, was thanked for the immaculate condition of the course. The winners were 1 T.J. Coughlan, Kane Ryan, John Murphy, Paul O’Brien 59.1.

Runners-up were Anthony McCormack, Leneord O’Shea, Jamie Flynn, Michael Hoyne 59.3; 3 Keith Kavanagh, Pat Joyce, Seamus Fitzpatrick, Nicky Grace 59.4.

Spring League: This year’s Spring League commences this weekend. It will start with a three person team scramble and a singles Stableford.
