The Kilkenny judo club will celebrate their 50th birthday in style this weekend by staging the All-Ireland championships.

A full day of action in the Watershed will commence at 10.30am on Saturday. Over 300 judo enthusiasts will be involved in the championships which will have events for seniors, intermediates, juniors, vets and children,

The Irish Judo Association decided on Kilkenny as the venue for the finals because the local club was celebrating a big birthday.

The local club holds training sessions in the Friday Hall every Tuesday evening.
