Raising money for a good cause will be the goal for the Kilkenny & District League this weekend.

Raising money for a good cause will be the goal for the Kilkenny & District League this weekend.

The League, in conjunction with The Irish Donor Association, will hold a gala concert in The Springhill Hotel on Friday at 9.30pm. Music will be by Generation 5 and Keltic Kats.

Special guests on the night include Blue Massey, storyteller Jim Maher and John Delaney, CEO of the FAI. Tickets, priced €20, are available from any league or club official or from the hotel.

All proceeds will go to the Irish Donor Association.

Under-15 Squad

The Kilkenny & District League’s under-15s will resume training in Derdimus this evening (Thursday). Training will be held on the all-weather pitch, with all squad players to be in attendance for 5.20pm.

The team will continue their preparations for the forthcoming inter-league competition by playing a friendly against Wexford in Derdimus on November 9.

Goalkeeper Coaching

The FAI will hold a goalkeeper coaching course at Evergreen Park on Sunday. The course, The Fundamentals of Goalkeeping, runs from 9.30am to 5pm and costs €45. Bookings via the website www.fai.ie/coached.

USA tickets

The FAI have launched a club initiative for the Republic of Ireland friendly against the USA in November.

Clubs can bring players to the game in the Aviva Stadium on November 18, with tickets available for €5 for children under-16 and €10 for accompanying adults using the promotional code CLUBSUSA.

Tickets must be purchased in ratios of two adults for every eight children attending. Further information from www.fai.ie
