The Kilkenny & District League have announced the fixtures for the first two rounds of games in both the Premier Division and Division One.

Mock Lawlor Tournament

The draw has been made for this year’s Mock Lawlor Memorial charity soccer tournament.

The competition, now a traditional curtain-raiser to the junior soccer season, will switch homes from the Fair Green to Derdimus this year. Wexford’s North End United are back to defend their title, along with host club Freebooters and two more teams from the South-East - Peake Villa from the TSDL and Waterford Bohs.

The opening match will see ’Booters take on Peake Villa at 7pm in Derdimus on Tuesday, August 11. The second semi-final between North End and Waterford Bohs will be held in Derdimus on Wednesday, August 12. The final will be held that Friday (August 14), with a 7pm kick-off time at the Kilkenny & District League’s home ground.

As well as giving teams the chance to prepare for the new season, the competition also raises monies for local charities.
