It's a must - to report scores

Players have been reminded that it is the responsibility of all to report their scores from Classics, Societies and team events.
Those who feature in the top three in any Classic, Society or team event must enter the details on the away score sheet on the men's and ladies notice boards.
Members who play in an Open singles will have their score automatically returned on the Golf Net.
SWEEP: It is that time of year again. The sweep for the Masters has been launched.
The entry sheet is pinned up in the bar. Interested members should write their names on the sheet and put their €5 in the envelope provided and give same to the bar staff.
Draw will be made on the week of the Masters. Full details available prior to the event.
There will be prizes for the top four places, leading qualifier on Friday, as well as the worst score on the Friday and Sunday.

Kilkenny kick off their involvement in the Provincial Towns Cup against Callan on Easter Saturday, April 15. Five of the nine singles will be in Kilkenny with four away.
The next round of the Barton Cup, versus Callan, has been fixed for Easter Monday, April 17. Kilkenny having three of the five matches at home.
COURSE NEWS: The development of the 12th tee is running behind schedule by about two weeks due to the bad weather in early March.
The grounds staff are currently laying sods on the tee box (ladies and gents) and seeding the surrounding areas.

JUNIORS: In the Leinster versus Munster under-16 boys challenge match, Jack Walsh was an impressive winner for Leinster on Sunday in Tramore.
Jack was one down after 8 but covered the closing 10 holes in level par to win 5up. Leinster won 4-2 in this medal matchplay challenge match.

Meanwhile, managers Mary Hickey and Margaret Kiely have arranged a practice session for The Revive Active Panel, with Jimmy Bolger, Club Professional, on April 1 ( 10am). The panel is requested to meet at the chipping green by 10th tee.
CHALLENGE CUP: The Challenge Cup team has been given a walkover in their first match. The next round will be played the first week of May.

INTER-CLUB: It was an early start to the year for the Castlecomer Barton Cup and All-Ireland fourball teams.
Both teams played their first round on Sunday.
The Barton Cup team defeated Abbeyleix by 4 matches to 1. The All-Ireland fourball team defeated Mount Juliet by 3 matches to 2.
The respective managers were Colin Dunne and Pat Haughton.
LADIES: Castlecomer golf club is starting a series of beginners’ golf lessons for ladies on Tuesday, May 2.
The eight, one hour sessions will be held in conjunction with PGA professional Noel Leahy. All equipment is provided.
The emphasis is on chipping, putting and the long game.
Registration will be on Tuesday, April 25 ( 7pm). This is a great opportunity for anyone who is interested in golf, meeting people and getting lots of exercise and fresh air to sign up.

COOKING: Well done to all involved in the cookery night. A great team effort from all, with Lady Captain, Ms Betty Owens at the helm, made it a huge success.
