Fans urged to support Hurlers fund-raiser

THE GAA Supporters’ Club and the Co Board are embarking on a major fund-raising drive for the Kilkenny senior hurling team’s holiday fund.

THE GAA Supporters’ Club and the Co Board are embarking on a major fund-raising drive for the Kilkenny senior hurling team’s holiday fund.

“We came out in our thousands to enjoy the occasion of both the All-Ireland final and the homecoming,” said Supporters’ Club secretary Jim Freeman. “Now it’s time to give a little something back.”

The Supporters’ Club have reduced the price of their draw tickets to E10 in order to encourage more people to support their cause.

“If every supporter of the county team gets behind this draw, we will be able to give our county players the holiday they deserve for the efforts they have made, not just during this very special year, but over the past decade,” Mr Freeman added.

Tickets are on sale through clubs, at all championship games and from the Supporters’ Club. They will also be on site at the National Ploughing Championships in Athy.

First prize is E5,000, with flatscreen TVs for second and third prizes.

The tickets will also be on sale through the offices at Nowlan Park. The draw will be made on the day of the senior hurling county final.
