Four more capture Leinster titles

PADDY Reilly and Seamus Reade overcame the challenge of Talbot’s Inch rivals, Joe Savage and Jim Neary in a three game encounter to win the Diamond Masters Leinster handball final. Neary and Savage made it difficult from the start with great killing from Joe and retrieving from Jim to win the first game 21-14.

Reilly got into his stride in the second and took control. They never let up, winning 21-10. The fare in the third game was of a similar style. The Reade/Reilly partnership ran into an early lead of 9-1. They roared on to win 21-8 to complete the Leinster double for Paddy.

Billy Bourke and Phil Parsons beat Joe Walsh and Liam Law in two straight games to win the Silver Masters doubles Leinster final for the second year in-a-row. Home advantage stood to the O’Loughlin’s pair who served well throughout.

Michael ‘Ducksie’ Walsh takes on Dessie Keegan in Abbeylara on Saturday in the All-Ireland senior quarter-final. Keegan will give the Talbot’s Inch legend a tough game but ‘Ducksie’ should progress to the semi-finals.

Elsewhere on Saturday, Paddy Reilly and Eamonn Purcell are in singles action in Talbot’s Inch against Ulster opponents while Tom Dooley, Jim Dooley and Rachel Hogan all travel North in search of a place in the final.
