The new handball officers for 2013

The annual meeting of Kilkenny Handball Board heard that adults won 28 40x20 provincial titles, 32 60x30 provincial titles, 12 40x20 All-Ireland titles, 15 60x30 All-Ireland titles, five world titles while Kells won the junior B team provincial and All-Ireland title and Clogh won the intermediate team provincial title.

The annual meeting of Kilkenny Handball Board heard that adults won 28 40x20 provincial titles, 32 60x30 provincial titles, 12 40x20 All-Ireland titles, 15 60x30 All-Ireland titles, five world titles while Kells won the junior B team provincial and All-Ireland title and Clogh won the intermediate team provincial title.

On top of that, juveniles won 11 40x20 provincial, 10 60x30 provincial titles, one 40x20 All-Ireland title, 4 60x30 All-Ireland titles while the under-12/13 and under-14/15 teams of six won provincial titles in both alleys.

Guest speakers were John Kelly, President of the Leinster Council, Paul Kinsella, then chairman Kilkenny County Board and Con Moore, new World Handball President. Chairman Seamus Reade thanked all the officers, coaches and players for all their help during the year and congratulated Con Moore on his election.

Kilkenny players have been nominated in four categories for the Leinster All Star awards for 2012 - Female Player of the Year, Rachel Hogan, Kilfane; Young Female Player of The Year, Ciara Mahon, Clogh; Youth Female Player of the Year, Aoife Holden, Kilfane and Official of the Year, Seamus Reade, Talbot’s Inch.

They will receive their Leinster awards at GAA Handball National All Star awards night in Croke Park on Saturday, February 9 and will be up against the other three provinces for the national award.
