Winter Walkers meet every Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 7.00pm untill 8.00pm in Danesfort GAA grounds. Starting Monday 14th January 14 it would be great to see new faces. LOTTO - Danesfort GAA & Parish Development Lotto Results Week 12. Draw took place in Sheridan’s Ennisnag on Monday December 17 2012. The Jackpot was €900 and the numbers drawn were 24 - 22 – 3.There was no winner

SOCCER - Fort Rangers were defeated for the second time in a month by Clover Utd. Last Sunday Fort went down 2-1 away which was the same score a month ago when Clover came to Wallslough. Fort are lying second from bottom in the St. Canice’s Credit Union Premier Division and will have to get back to their winning ways to secure survival. Fort have a big task in front of them this Sunday when they take on Freebooters A in Wallslough.

KARATE - Danesfort Karate Club is running for almost 12 months. The club was founded by Kevin Shortall, a qualified black-belt karate instructor Kilkenny. Kevin runs clubs in other venues across Kilkenny ie Watershed and Loreto Sports Hall. The Danesfort club is for boys and girls, aged between 4 and 12 years old and runs every Tuesday from 6pm - 6:45pm. Danesfort has members from other areas such as Kells, Cuffesgrange and Kilkenny City.Karate classes taught at the club consist of warm-up and stretching routines, karate and self-defence techniques and plenty of activities involving teamwork. The club is now looking to add to its membership. Anybody interested in enrolling their children for karate should contact Kevin on 086 3668669. The new term starts on Tuesday 8th January 2013. Places may be limited so early booking is advised. 

CUBS AND BEAVERS - Cubs meet on Monday’s in Danesfort Community Centre 6.45pm to 8.00pm. Contact 087 9343090. Beavers meet on Thursday’s in Community centre 6.30pm to 7.30pm. Contact 087 8043511. New year beavers and cubs start this week January 7 andJanuary 10 2013.

FOROIGE - Foroige Club meet on Thursdays in Danesfort Community Centre at 8.00pm. It is an adult volunteer-led organization for teenage boys and girls aged 13 – 18 years. For more information on our Danesfort Club Contact 087 6406408.

GOING STRONG - The Going Strong Club will resume on Wednesday 22nd January at 10.30am in Danesfort Community Centre from 10.30m to 1.00pm. This year we hope to expand our activities and become more active in the community. There will be more emphasis on health and fitness in the club, with members getting involved in indoor and outdoor pursuits. A Club can never have enough members so we invite new people (men and women) to come along and keep our club Going Strong. Anyone who has popped in over the past two years can testify to its warm and friendly atmosphere. Each morning fresh scones, tea/coffee are served. BINGO - Bingo is held very Wednesday in Danesfort Community Centre at 8.30pm. For any newcomers, there is plenty of car parking available and a bus service operates each week from Kilkenny City. Contact: 086 8825821

YOGA - The new yoga sessions for 2013 will commence on Tuesday 22nd January in Danesfort Community Centre 10.00am. Yoga is a wonderful way to increase flexibility and improve muscle tone, breathing and body posture. If you would like to try it, just drop in to our classes. The classes are given by a qualified instructor Sadhbh O’Neill. You will need comfortable clothing, yoga mat, blanket and small pillow. Refreshments after each class. Contact 086 1666547.

BRIDGE - Bridge classes resume on Tuesday 8th January at 7.30pm in Danesfort Community Centre with Annette Kennedy,Member of C.B.A.I. Bridge Teachers Association. Playing regularly keeps your memory active and brain alert. Contact: 087 6601564

COMPUTERS - If you are interested in taking computer classes in the new year, please contact 086 1666547. Booking in advance of classes is essential. It would be advisable also to have access to your own laptop or computer for practice.
