KerrY fooball star Colm ‘Gooch’ Cooper was in Kilkenny last week, to have his skills put to the test by the Loreto’s fearsome camogie players.

Cooper was at the school as part of the AIB Build a Bank Competition. However, he found time to hold a training session with the girls at the school where he gave them some football tips while the camogie champions showed him some hurling skills.

The girls asked him if he was still going to wear number 13 this year while captaining Kerry in the Championship, despite the fact that no captain wearing that number has ever won the trophy. Cooper had no qualms about it:

“I’m not very superstitious and I don’t think the number of a jersey decides if you win an All Ireland or not, so I will continue to wear the number 13,” he said.
