Elvis is making a welcome
return to Bennettsbridge

DEVELOPMENT GROUP/TIDYTOWNS - There was a great turn out for the clean up morning on Saturday last. Fantastic work was done in the parish field, weeding and clearing in advance of the playground project due to commence shortly  Litter was collected all around the village and essential weeding was also carried out. A big thank you to those who were out from 8am working in the junior sports field, so that soccer activities could continue as normal, and to all the volunteers who came out help. There will be a second collection day for clothes recycling on the 19th of October (times between 9.00 -10.00 am and again 2.00 -3.30 at the hall). All kinds of clean clothing accepted including, shoes, belts, handbags, bed linen, curtains also books and
mobile phones.  All funds raised will go towards the TidyTowns/Development Group. Elvis is making a welcome return to Bennettsbridge on the 17th November. Tickets are €5.00 and can be had from any of the Tidy towns Committee or volunteers.

EAST END NEWS - On 27th October East End will hold a soccerthon in Wallslough Arena. Commencing at 10:00 A.M. We hope to play 12 hours of soccer involving all of our teams from under 9 right up to our 3 adult teams. Each team will be allocated an hour and any games fixed for that day will be arranged so all teams can participate. The team that collects the most money will win two free training sessions in Wallslough and the player in the club that raises most money will win a jersey of his/ her choice(up to value €50). Mams, Dads and coaches can get involved and play a friendly game as well.  Each team manager will let you know your kick off time closer to the date. This is a fun way to raise much needed funds for your soccer club. So collect as much sponsorship as you can and return money and forms before the 26th. Junior News - Membership is now due for the A, B and Ladies teams.  Please pay your Manager as soon as possible. Schoolboys - The U17’s had a great start to the League with a 9-0 win over Paulstown 06.  Scorers: Jason Byrne 3, Liam Blanchfield 3, Sean Morrissey 2, Sean Lynch The U15’s were unlucky to lose 5-6 against Deen Celtic in their opening game.  Scorers: Shane Hanley 4, Tom Lawler The U12’s had a great win in the SFAI Cup over Bohemians from Waterford.  They beat them 6-3 to progress to the next round, a home game against Park Rangers from Waterford, Development Squads - The Club is well represented in the KDL Development Squads with 11 players between the U11, U12 and U13 squads.  Well done to all concerned.
