It was a good year for Bennettsbridge in the Tidy Towns competition, with the village taking an extra six points (270) home compared to last year.
It was Bennettsbridge's fourth time to enter, and improvements were made in several categories. The 18-member committee was complimented for its efforts, the many meetings held throughout the year, and the strong links with local reisdents, groups and businesses.
The community park was praised as ' a valuable facility and is well maintained', while adjudicators also noted it 'is fortunate that the TUS workers can do daily litter collections assisted by volunteers'.
Approach roads came in for praise — as did the bridge itself, although judges asked if a pathway had been considered on one side.
