Stoneyford managed to increase its overall mark in the Tidy Towns competition this year by a stunning 10 points.
The town centre and houses on the main street came in for praise from the adjudicators, while premises such as O’Gradys and the adjoining Malzards were found to be 'well maintained'.
The list of initiatives under the category of Sustainable Waste and Resource Management was described as 'quite impressive' and all are based on the principles of Reduce, Re-use and Recycle.
“Well done on taking god [sic] care of your community, says the adjudicators.
“It was a pleasure to see the level of commitment by the committee supported by the community.
“We hope this report provides some guidance for your future work.”
