ST ANNES CAMOGIE CLUB NEWS-Our U14 yrs team played a strong Shamrocks team in a very competitive game on Tuesday June 19 in Johnstown GAA field. The girls played well and made a good account of themselves but we’re beaten in the end. - Congratulations to Catherine Doherty and Edel Maher who represented St Anne’s on the successful Kilkenny senior camogie team on Saturday last.

- St Anne’s had 4 girls playing on the Kilkenny U 16 team who played Tipperary on Sunday last in the Ragg Thurles, Sarah Whelan, Mary Corcoran, Niamh Sweeney and Chloe Purcell. Congratulations to the girls.

- St Anne’s senior team will play Piltown on Wednesday July 4 in Piltown. The U 10 blitz takes place on Saturday July 7 in Johnstown GAA field, please come and support all our young players. The U 16team will play St Lachtains/Conahy in Friday July 13 in Johnstown at 7pm.

ST KIERAN’S ATHLETIC CLUB-Congratulations to Michael and Keelan Dermody Donaghmore who represented the club at the B Championship in Thomastown last week, both boys did extremely well with Keelan coming third in the 80 m sprint. Regular training resumes on Thursdays at 6.45pm - 7.45pm and Sundays 12.15 - 1.15. New members are always very welcome.

ANNUAL CEMETERY-: Johnstown parish: Grangefertagh Tuesday July 10at 7.30pm, Johnstown Tuesday July 17 at 7.30pm, Donaghmore Tuesday July 24 at 7.30pm. These masses will take place in the cemeteries weather permitting otherwise in St Kieran’s Church.

ROLLING BACK THE YEARS-Sean & Theresa Quinn operate the Sacred Heart Nursing Home just outside Urlingford. On next Sunday afternoon July 1 they are holding a very special event in aid of the Alzeimer’s Association. Being both great dancing enthusiast they have decided to ‘Roll back the dancing years’ to the day’s of the platform.

They have erected a 40x20 foot dancing platform on their own ground’s and the afternoon of dancing will commence at 3pm with the ever popular Limerick man DERMOT LYONS providing the music.Dermot is known far and wide on the social dancing scene and is a former All-Ireland accordian champion. There is ample free parking available adjacent to the Nursing Home to facilitate everyone. So whether its waltze’s,fovtrot’s or set’s are your favourite head along next Sunday evening for an afternoon of great dancing and entertainment.
