The stage is set…

BBQ and Cabaret-The stage is set for the KBK Gun Club Summer BBQ and Cabaret. This is due to be held indoors and outdoors in the new stage area at Andy’s, Ballyhale on Saturday 30 June. The food, including venison and rabbit will be served from 7.30pm to 10pm. Later music will be by Marble City Sounds. Admission is €5 and the door prize is €100.

Golf Classic-The 15th Annual Ballyhale Shamrocks Golf Classic is being organised at the moment by Michael Hoyne and colleagues. It takes place on Friday 6 and Saturday 7 July at Mountain View Golf Course. Teams of four cost €200 including meals. Contacts are Michael Hoyne 086 3764672, Tommy Phelan 087 2283166 or the Club 056 7768122. Handicap limits Men 20, Ladies 28. There are €3,000 of prizes including prizes for non-members (GUI).

Senior Citizens-The Womens’ Guild are running their senior citizens trip to Bunratty Castle this year. The trip departs Ballyhale on 5 July, leaving at 9.30am. Anyone wishing to go should give their name to any Guild member by June 30. The cost is €20 for Bus, Lunch and Dinner. All are welcome!

Tennis-The Shreddies Parks Tennis is coming up soon. It runs from Monday 16 July to Friday 27 July and 10 lessons cost €15. 6-8 year olds are from 2-3pm; 9 -12 year olds are from 3-4pm and over 12’s is 4-5pm. All equipment is supplied. Enquiries to Josie Conway at 7768098 between 6and 8pm only.

Parish-A Parish Day or weekend is due to be held on 18 and 19 August to bring every club, society and organization in the Parish together. A number of events are being planned at the moment.

Congratulations-Congratulations to Thomas Kelly, son of Alice and the late Tommy Kelly (Knocktopher Village) who was recently married to Marie Maher, daughter of John and Ann Maher (Templeorum). The wedding ceremony was held at Knockmoylan Church with a reception in Zuni, Kilkenny. The happy couple honeymooned in Thailand. We wish them a long and happy life together!

Birthdays-A number of people in the Parish have celebrated their birthdays in the last few weeks. Conor Walsh (Coolmore) was one of those – as was Luke Moloney (Knockwilliam) and Jemma Walshe (Knockwilliam). Jessie Raglia (Knocktopher) who also recently sat her junior Cert. Eamonn Walsh (Castlegannon) shares a birthday with yours truly (though luckily for him, not the year)!
