Dungarvan: Get up The Stook

STOOK TEN MILE ROAD RACE - Young Irelands GAA club and Gowran Athletic Club have come together to present a challenge to all who believe that they are fit enough to take part in a physical challenge . You don’t have to be a champion runner to take part in the event as there is also a 5km Dash / Fun walk on the day.Entry for the Dash Walk is E 10 while entry for the 10 mile road race is E 20. Children are free. You can register on line at www.stook10.ie. Registeration on the day must be completed by 11;30am.The race will start at 12 noon sharp at Dungarvan Church.Donations of cakes etc can be left into Dungarvan Hall before 10am on Sunday morning. This is a major event and should attract huge support.

DUNGARVAN CARDS - Two pairs with 10 games shared the prizemoney last Thursday. Kevin O’Donnell / Margo Coogan, Toddyskehan / Rose Hayes. Table prize went to ; Charles Hill / Tom Walsh .

BANG ON - Dungarvan Gun Club celebrated another successful year with a cabaret at the Ouncel House. Mark Kirk was presented with the Ouncel House Perpetual trophy for bagging the bird with the longest spur in this season’scompetition. Winners of the farmers draw were ; Hilary Walsh , Jack Bolger , Pat Kavanagh , & John Lannon. The committee thanked John Farrell for the use of his land for their Rearing Pen which plays an important role in their conservation programme.They also thanked all who sponsored prizes and supported their event.

YOUNG IRELANDS LOTTO - Again no jackpot winner. Numbers drawn ; 2-5-6-13. E 35 winners ; Gerry Minogue , Nigel Cullen , Tommy Kinsella , Rachel Farrell , Eimer O’Riordan.

BIG BINGO - Big prizes are on offer this Sunday at Cillin Hill. Gowran monster bingo takes place at 3pm in Cillin Hill.Sure it’s worth a gamble.
