Michael Dempsey RIP - We extend sincere sympathy to the family and friends of Michael Dempsey late of Tullyvolty, Johnstown. Michael passed away recently at his home in England. Son of the late Joe and Peggy Dempsey, Michael emigrated at a very young age but never lost touch with home.He visited regularly especially during the lifetime of his parents. He is the first of the Dempsey family to die and he will be sadly missed by his wife, brothers Tom, Paul, Ken and Jerry, sisters Margaret, Kathleen, Tricia and Sheila, aunts Nellie and Theresa, sisters in law, brothers in law ,nieces, nephews and many cousins in the Johnstown area. Burial took place in Johnstown Cemetery after Requiem Mass celebrated in Johnstown Church . May he rest in peace.

Congratulations - Well done to Joe Fitzpatrick, Johnstown on winning last weeks Spa Development Lotto of €16,600. Joes lucky numbers were 2,5,7,8. The winning ticket was sold in Paschals Bar. Draw this week for the Jackpot of €2000 will be held in Paschals Bar.

Cyber Bullying - Congratulations to the students of Colaiste Mhuire who have decided to fight cyber bullying. They are the first school in the area to undertake this venture and we wish them every success with it. Cyber Bullying is one of the most vicious and dangerous acts of modern technology and the sooner it is stamped out the better.

St Anne’s Camogie Club - The Annual General Meeting of St Anne’s Camogie Club will be held in Crosspatrick Hall on Friday night Feb 1st at 8pm. Considering how successful the Club was last season it is hoped for a good attendance. Everyone is welcome.

Whist Drive - The whist drive in St Mary’s last Friday night had a good attendance despite the bad weather. All proceeds donated to Bothar.
