Her Funeral will take place in London on Thursday January 24

Stoneyford School - Meeting of the Board of Management will take place in the school on Wednesday January 23 at 8pm. Enrolements for the school year beginning September 1 must be in before MARCH 1,

Year of Faith - Celebrate the Year of Faith. Come to a Day of Prayer at Knock Shrine on February 2 from 10am to 5.00p.m. The day includes talks, Rosary, Adoration and Holy Mass. Talks will be given by Fr Kilian Byrne, Foyers of Charity. Talks will include : The Eucharist -The Pearl of Great Price: The Catechism of the Catholic Church: and The Urgency of the Fatima Message.

First Holy Communion - Family Masses in preparation for First Holy Communion will take place on Saturday . January 26; In Stoneyford Church at 6.30p.m. In Hugginstown Church at 8pm.

Baptisms - Congratulations to Caoimhe Dympna Courtney, Chapel View, Stoneyford and her parents Yvonne and Daniel. Caoimhe was baptised in Stoneyford Church on Sunday . January 13.

Congratulations to Paidí David Beagan, Condonstown and his parents Maria and Darragh.

Paidí was baptised in Hugginstown Church on Sunday January 13.

Bingo - Bingo Session in the Community Centre, Stoneyford on every Tuesday at 8.30p.m

Mens Shed - A brainstorming session will take place in Droichead Family Resource Centre on Thursday, January 24 at 11am. All men from Callan and the surrounding area that would like to get involved to get this project off the ground are welcome to come along to chat and explore ideas. This idea of the men’s shed is an Australian concept where men come together and talk ‘shoulder to shoulder’ while working on practical projects. For further information please call 056 775 5519.

‘Anam Cara’ Support Groups - They are situated throughout Ireland and provide parents a safe, comfortable environment where they have the opportunity to connect with other bereaved parents. ‘Anam Cara’ is an inclusive organisation where parents do not identify themselves by their children’s age, how they died, or if their death was recent or many years ago. What ‘Anam Cara’ provides is a safe place for bereaved parents to connect with others who understand the intensity of the grief and loss. ‘Anam Cara’ is holding its monthly support meeting on Monday 28th. of January from 19:30 to 21:00 at The Horse & Jockey Hotel, Thurles. This event is free, open to all bereaved parents and each ‘Anam Cara’ support group has a bereavement therapist present to answer any questions parents may have and signpost them to other services that are available in the area. Alzheimers/Dementia Facilitated Support Group - This group is for carers of people with Alzheimers/Dementia. Providing a safe space for information exchange, emotional and practical support and the opportunity to network with other carers in similar positions.
