Clogh: More handball titles

Handball - Clogh handball club won 3 more county titles over the past weekend.. In girls u16 doubles Aoilean Hennessy and Eilis Regan defeated Kells while in the final. of the under 14 doubles Ciaran Cooney and Aidan Barry also overcame Kells in the final. In under 16 doubles Padraig Cooney and Shane Dunne beat Windgap in the final..Well done.to the winners and hard luck to Thomas and Eamon Brennan who were beaten in the under 12 doubles final by Kells..

CLONEEN AGM. - Cloneen Hurling Club will begin preparations for another busy season at the clubs AGM which will take place on Sunday next 27 January at 5pm in the Clubhouse. New members are always welcome. Railyard Football Club AGM is on Sunday week at 5 pm.

CLOGH NS - Enrolment forms for new pupils beginning next September are now available from the school for collection. These should be completed and returned not later than Friday 6 February. In these trying times, there was a setback for the school yesterday (Monday) morning when the children had to be sent home when it was discovered that the heating oil had been stolen over the weekend leaving it impossible to run classes on a very cold morning.

MONEENROE SCHOOL - Moneenroe National School will celebrate it’s centenery this year and the organising committee are seeking old photographs and memorabilia relating to the school. In order to raise some badly needed fund the parents committee will be selling St. Bridgets Crosses at Masses next weekend and will run a coffee morning in Railyard clubhouse next Tuesday .

LOURDES - This year’s Ossory pilgrimage to Lourdes takes place from 22nd 27thMay at a cost of €735 which the bus to and from the airport. Bookings to Glenmore Parish Office on 051 880414.

NEW TOILETS - Work on installing the new toilet facilities at the walking track is well advanced and Clogh Commnity Council announed this week that the facility will be available in the next few weeks.

MANY YOUNG MEN - The excellent Kilquan Players will perform their play ‘Many Young Men of Twenty’ in Coon Hall each night next weekend and will bring their show to Moneenroe Hall on Friday week 1st February.
