JUBILEE - Congratulations to Fr Ollie Maher PP who celebrated his Silver Jubilee on Saturday evening with concelebrated Mass. In attendance were his brothers, sisters, cousins and a huge Parish attendance. Afterwards a party was held in the Hall where a huge crowd attended.
COMMUNITY SUMMER CAMP - Urlingford/Johnstown community childcare are holding a summer camp in July from 9am to 2.30pm for primary school aged children. Week 1 to 4 in Urlingford and week 5 in our Johnstown centre. All are welcome to attend but limited places are left for each week and will be offered on a first come basis. Programme will involve arts/crafts, cooking and lots of fun and games. We also do weekly bus trips (first 4 weeks only). This years trips include Irish Naval Services, Air Force, Garda Station and Forensics and a scouting inspired ‘backwoods’ adventure. Cost per child is E72.50 per week. A discount is available for siblings/children availing of two or more weeks. We also offer parents on social welfare payments substantial discounts with our CCS childcare grants. GRAINE ICA - Proposed Summer Trip to Belfast will take place on July 6 and 7. The trip will include: A sightseeing tour of Belfast City and Environs, a visit to the Titanic Exhibit8ion at the Belfast Museum, a visit to a garden centre, shopping arcades and famous buildings. THE GATHERING - As part of The Gathering the parish of Graine and Urlingford are organizing a weekend of activities in August, full details to be finalised. One of these is to have an exhibition of photos in both Graine and Urlingford, which reflects the history of the Parish, and it’s people. We are looking for photos, First Holy Communion, Confirmation, photos of anyone who served in any of the wars or in the army. Any photos of Gardai, Priests or Doctors etc. If you do not want these photos to leave your home we can arrange for someone to call and copy them in your home.
