Even Canice was dressed for Halloween

The sculpture of St Canice outside the Bank of Ireland on High Street got a make-over this weekend as the Ossory Youth group Kilkenny Peer Education Guerrillas (KPEG) gave him a new look for Halloween.

The sculpture of St Canice outside the Bank of Ireland on High Street got a make-over this weekend as the Ossory Youth group Kilkenny Peer Education Guerrillas (KPEG) gave him a new look for Halloween.

The group swooped in on Saturday night and gave Canice the revamp to raise awareness around positive mental health, after attending a Halloween party at Desart Hall for all the young people who took part in the fund-raising and awareness-raising activities on behalf of Headstrong, a mental health charity for young people.

The group, who had already been out on the streets with a Thriller flash mob on the Parade for Kilkenny Drug Awareness Week, was given permission by Kilkenny Borough Council to dress up the sculpture that was made by Kilkenny-based artist Saturio Alonso. The group had made a presentation to the council seeking permission to put up art installations around the city.
