P2P - Support group for parents and carers of children with special needs will hold a talk given by Barrister Mr Dan Feehan on will provisions for persons with special needs in St Patrick’s Parish Centre on Thursday night next Oct 18th. Johnstown Choir - Johnstown Church Choir has resumed after the summer at the 11oclock Mass each Sunday.. new members would be greatly appreciated.

Badminton - Johnstown Junior Badminton Club holds its Annual General Meeting on Wed night Oct 17th at 8.30 in St Kierans Commu ity Hall. Registration on the night. Cost €25 per child. At least one parent from each family is asked to be present. New members are very welcome.

Memorial Mass - A Mass in memory of people who died in St Luke’s Hospital in the past year will be celebrated on Wed Oct 17th at 7.30 in St Canice’s Church.

Congrats - Congrats to Gathabawn Rural Development Council who opened their newly developed loop walk on Sun Oct 14th. The official opening was by Ear to the Ground presenter Helen Carroll, whose late father Ted was a native of the parish. A large crowd turned up on the day and before they all set off a larch tree was planted in the Millenium Garden to mark the occasion. The walk is about 7 miles long and has some beautiful views along the route.
