Muckalee: Great win for St Martin’s over Village

Second Shield win - St.Martins collected  second ever Shield Final win with a victory over James Stephens ,the game was played in Nowlan Park. Each side lined out short some players due to injuries,an it was the City side who raced into an early three point lead but Martins recovered well to be a point up at the break 0-7 to 0-6 . The second half saw the only goal of the game and it was for Stephens to once again give a three points differance in the scores put Martins finished well to win by 0-16 to 1-11.The Shield was presented to Saint Martins captain Patrick Nolan by County Board Chairman ,Paul Kinsella. A.G.M. Playschool - Muckalee Community Playschool’s AGM will take place on Wednesday 24th October at 8pm, All are welcome.

Muckalee Community Project - Halloween Camp for school going children will be held from Tuesday, 30th October to Friday 2nd November from 9.30 am. to 2pm. Cost €10 per day. Day trip, Spooky baking, Fancy dress party, Art & crafts and lots of fun and games for all. All children to be pre booked for the days they wish to attend by Monday. 22nd October and pre paid by Wednesday 25th October.

Sale of Work - Coon sale of work for 2012 will be held on Sunday 25th November at 2pm. Any donation of trees for the timber auction or any support or sponsorship is very welcome.

Badminton - Johnswell Junior Badminton training recommences on Saturdays for U-13 at 4pm., U-15 and U-17 at 5pm. and U-11 on Sunday mornings at 10.45 am.

Fashion Show - Muckalee Community Centre will hold an Autumn/Winter fashion show on Wednesday, 17th October in Newpark Hotel at 8.30pm. Compere on the night will be Faith Amond and admission fee €10.

U-12 GIRLS FOOTBALL - Muckalee U-12 girl footballers were beaten by Barrow Gaels in the U-12 league on Saturday last in Muckalee.  The final score was Barrow Gaels  6—4, Muckalee 4—3. After conceding  an early goal and a point in the first few minutes they were fighting an uphill battle. However, they never threw in the towel and had Barrow Gaels on the backfoot by the end. A lack of training for the past few weeks didn’t help but all is not lost yet and a few more games have to be played.

Panel - Emma Kelly, Martina Morrissey, Fiona Manning, Eliza Appezzato, Grainne Kelly, Siobhan Coady, Catriona Murtagh, Katie O Neill, Chloe Dooley, Aoife O Neill,  Clodagh Hanlon, Alannagh Keegan, Laura McDowell, Caoimhe McGuinness, Aoife Murphy, Hazel Moore, Ciara Farrell U-10 Hurling - St Martins Under 10’s were kindly invited to O Loughlins blitz on Saturday last.  We were in the A competition and the lads competed very well with Kilmacud Crokes, O Donavan Rossa, Jas Stephens and Craobh Ciaran.  It was a great expierence for the boys to play teams from other counties especially O Donavan Rossa from Aintrim who left at 6am to make the Blitz.  Thanks to Nigel Leydon for his kind invitation and to all the parents and especially to all the boys who represented the club proudly once again.
