The Southeast Regional Committee of Active Retirement Ireland organised a race day at Gowran Park on June 24.

Over 280 members of SER Aactive Retirement Associations travelled from all over the South East. It was a glorious summer’s day.

The group was accommodated in the top-floor restaurant with a balcony overlooking the race course – a spectacular view. They thoroughly enjoyed the four-course meal served after the races.

Then it was time for what all the ladies were waiting for – the Best Dressed Lady, which was won by Anita Doyle, Suir ARA Waterford, while the Best Dressed man was Tony McCormack from New Ross. The Suir ARA table was voted the Best Dressed Ladies, and complimented for the effort they all made.

This was followed by two hours of all types of dancing, in which most people took part and enjoyed watching.

The committee of SER would like to thank Margaret Bennett Moore for organising the event.
