GO GREEN FOR O’NEILL CENTRE-On Friday 15th March local businesses are dawning the green in support of the O’Neill Centre. Businesses are asked to encourage staff and customers to get in the mood for St Patrick’s day and to donate a few euro to this worthy cause.
COMMUNITY GAMES ART -Congratulations to the medal winners in the recent Lisdowney Community Games Art Competition. The medal winners from Under 8 up to Under 16 have now qualified for the County Kilkenny Community Games Art Competition Finals which will be held on Wednesday, 13th March 2013, from 6.30 – 9 pm in Bennettsbridge Hall. Children should bring their own colours. Paper will be provided. Entry is €2 per child. Best of luck to all of the young Lisdowney artists in the county finals. COMMUNITY GAMES QUIZ -Best wishes to the Lisdowney Community Games Under 14 Table Quiz teams who will represent Lisdowney at the County Kilkenny Community Games Quiz Final, which will be held this Friday, 8th March 2013, at 8 pm in the Club House Hotel, Kilkenny. The teams are: Eimear Walsh, Claire O’Carroll, James Phelan, Chloe Mullins (team 1); and Laura O’Sullivan, Aoibheann Murphy, David O’Carroll and Ellen O’Carroll (team 2).
GAA BORD Na nOG-Lisdowney Bord Na nOG will bag pack on Friday 15th and Saturday 16th March at Supervalu Ballyragget. The rota will run from 10am - 8pm both days. Slots on rota will be for 2 hours e.g. 10am - 12noon. Please text your name, preferred date and time slot to 086 6995003. Parents/Guardians are asked to volunteer 2 hours to this fund raising exercise for the Lisdowney Pitch Development fund.
TREES NEEDED-Trees are urgently required as part of firewood fundraising activities for the hurling club. This is one of the main club fundraisers, but they are running low in timber. Please contact Stephen on 086 2770217. Timber Cutters also needed on Tuesday nights.

KEEP WALKING-From Clontubrid Car park on Monday and Thursday mornings at 9.00am then Tuesday and Friday evening at 6.30pm. Please call 086 1985251 and let us know what times would suit you, if you wish to walk with us but the times dont suit. The Parent’s Council of Scoil Naomh Fiachra are looking for volunteers to do the mini Marathon in June, but this walking is open to all people who would like to get together and walk. In a few weeks we will start the Couch to 5K programme for those who wish to do it.
FIRST COMMUNION-Dates for First Holy Communion in the parish this year are Saturday 11th May in Clontubrid, and Saturday 18th May in Lisdowney.
ADORATION-Adoration will be held every Friday in Lent from 7 pm in Lisdowney Church, followed by Mass at 7.30 pm.

REFLECTION-A Lenten journey with the Sunday Gospels continues in Castlecomer on 7th and 14th March from 7.30 to 8.30pm in Castlecomer Community Hall.
