BEREaVEMENT - Sympathy goes to the Costello family, Wallslough, following the recent death of Michael Thursday February 21. Michael, who was predeceased by his wife Mary and son Liam is survived by his sons Mickey, and Owen, daughters Mary, Orla and Aoife, sisters, sister-in-law, brother-in-law, grandchildren, nephews and nieces. Michael’s remains were interred in Foulkstown Cemetery on Saturday February 23.

FASHION - St. Michaels National School, Danesfort are running a Fashion Show in Langton House, Kilkenny, on Wednesday March 20 in aid of their New Building Fund. Also a donation will be given to St. Patrick’s Centre Kells Road. There will be a cheese and wine reception and raffle.  Tickets are €10, and because Mothers Day is approaching, a ticket would make a lovely gift for the mother in your life. The following shops are taking part Mimi, Sugar Sugar, Frank Wall, Swamp, Annaleens, Prada, Carraig Donn, Paco and Vila. Hair on the night will be by Kapelli Hairsalon. A very hard working committee are getting things organised at the moment so please support a good night out with loads of well known faces on the ramp, not to mention our compere Edward Hayden Celebrity Chef.

SOCCER- Fort Rangers, following last week’s win over Lions, Durrow, face a much harder challenge this Sunday, when they travel to the Fair Green, to take on third in the league, Freebooters A.

TRAINING - Churchill N/S, Cuffesgrange are hosting their 2nd 10k race and 5 k fun-run on May 12. It was a great success last year and again we invite all members of the community to take part. Due to the fantastic response and enthusiasm generated by the training sessions last year we are getting ready to dust off the cobwebs and go again. We have more athletes this year to take on the training at every level so no excuses all are welcome. Training will start on Monday March 11 and will continue for 8 weeks, the training times are on Monday and Thursday morning at 9.45am. and Tuesday and Friday evenings at 6.30 pm.  We will meet in Kilkenny rugby club car park and there is a nominal fee of €2 which will go to Churchill N/S.  If you have any queries please contact Anne at 0868213729,  you can also check out our Churchill N/S Facebook page.

ALZHEIMERS - Facilitated support group, for carers of people with Alzheimers/Dementia. Providing a safe space for information exchange, emotional and practical support and the opportunity to network with other carers in similar

PARENT AND TODDLER - Danesfort Parent and Toddler Group  meet on Monday morning’s from 10.30a.m - 12.15 at Danesfort Community Centre. Come along and meet new friends,toddler’s enjoy activities such as,  arts and crafts, action songs and weather permitting, a refreshing toddler walk can be enjoyed at the nearby walking track, buggies and suitable clothing required. SCOUTS - Your local Scout Troop needs you!! The 15th Kilkennyfortgrange scout troop needs adult volunteers. The Troop meet in Danesfort Community Centre on Monday from 18:45 to 20:00 and Thursday from 18:30 to 19:30. PRE SCHOOL - Church Hill Pre School in Cuffesgrange is now enrolling for September 2013. Children who are between 3 years and 3 months and 4 years and 6 months on September 1st of year of enrolment can avail of one year free Pre School. To avail of this in Church Hill please call in and collect an enrolment form or phone the office preferably in the mornings on 056 7729144. Children who do not qualify for the free year can still enrol if there are places available. Don’t delay as there are a limited number of places available.
