Pride and Prejudice in Ballykeeffe Amphitheatre

Join Miss Elizabeth Bennett and her sisters, her interfering long suffering mother, Mr. Collins and Mr. Darcy and a host of other characters as they battle with the ups and downs of a romantic Georgian era where, “It is a truth universally acknowledged that a single man in possession of a good fortune must be in want of a wife,”. Show starts at 7:30pm.

On 28 July, the great Jack L will perform an exclusive show in Ballykeeffe Amphitheatre. Tickets are €20 each and went on sale on 10 May at Kilkenny Book Centre, Rollercoaster Records and O’Connor’s of Kilmanagh.

FOOD & CRAFT MARKET - Callan Indoor Food & Craft Market will take place in Droicheád Family Resource Centre, The Friary, Mill St. in Callan every Friday from 9am to 2pm. LOCAL LOTTO - Numbers drawn on Monday, 2 July were 18-20-21. There was no winner of the €1,000 Jackpot. Congratulations to the five winners of the €30 prizes. Promoters’ prizes went to Bree Harrison, Jerry Ryan and Milo Hennessy. Thanks to all who support the Local Lotto.

F.A.I. INTERNATIONAL COACHING - The F.A.I. have places available for anyone who would like to attend an International Coaching Course in Barcelona and Madrid, Spain from 9 to 16 September of this year.

This was developed by Sports Training Solutions and Spain Soccer Tours with the support of top Spanish teams and the program is based in Madrid and Barcelona. Under the direction of the experienced Jose V. Portoles as Sports Director and the participation of well-known professional from Real Madrid, Atletico de Madrid, RCD Espanyol and FC Barcelona, the course includes training youth sessions in their state of the art facilities.

Some of the main objectives of the course will be to organise an environment that fosters personal and sport development, improve coach/tutor methodological intervention, gain a deeper understanding of the value of football as a means to engage young people in many education and to facilitate the access of the beginner to the professional level. Participants will also get to visit the Real Madrid, FC Barcelona and the Spanish Federation’s Museum.
