MEMORIAL FEIS - The annual Clodagh Cullen Memorial Feis was held in The Community Centre. The winner was, Molly Williams and she was presented with the cup by Anne Marie Cullen and her young daughter, Keeling Cullen. Also taking part were, U6. Laura and Abbie Keogh, Keeling Cullen, Roisin Cleere, Hugh Lonergan, Samuel Hayes, Robyn Kenny, Joy Lonergan, Heather Dolan, Katie Hayes, Aishling Dwan, Charlie Fitzgerald, Rachel Ward. U10. Lucy O’Sullivan, Lucy Walsh, Luci Brennan, Megan Walsh(Danesfort), Seoirse Mulcahy, Niamh Walsh, Megan Walsh, Abbie Wemyss, Farah and Aisling Callahan, Jenny Shiel, Ciara Grace, Niamh Hogan,Emma Keogh, Clodagh Shiels. U12. Laura Duggan, Caitlin Sherry, Hollie Farrell, Niamh Whelan,(overall dancer award) and Molly Williams,(winner Clodagh Cullen Cup). The children all received trophies compliments of the Cullen Family and their generosity was acknowledged by dancing teacher, Stella Carroll and her team.
CEMETERY MASSES - Cemetery Masses have been confirmed for this year. Due to the unpredictability of the weather, masses for Rathcusack and Kilfane were celebrated indoors with the Rathcusack mass held in St Bennett’s Church on Tuesday night, celebrant being, Canon Patrick Duggan, PP. On Friday night in Tullaherin Church, mass was celebrated for the souls of people buried in Kilfane and the celebrant was Canon Duggan. Mass in Tullaherin Cemetery will be held on Saturday, 28th July at 8pm. Mass in Bennettsbridge Cemetery will be celebrated on Saturday, 4th August at 7pm.
SYMPATHY - Mr Patrick McKillen, Co Derry who died recently was the father of Harry and Seamus McKillen,Bennettsbridge. Better known as Paddy, he had reached the great age of 101 and sympathy goes to the McKillen family on their bereavement.

COLLECTION - The July collection for the St Vincent de Paul Society will be be held this weekend before all masses.
WHEELCHAIR COLLECTION - The collection in aid of the Wheelchair Association was held in Tullaherin Church on Saturday night and realised €111.00. This brings the total for the parish to €398.00 and is a very generous response to this very worthy cause.
ART CLASSES - Classes continue this Saturday in the Community Centre from 12noon to 2pm.
CRAFTS - For the past few months there have been welcome signs that the tourist footfall is increasing and local crafts people are glad to see business improving. Mosse’s Pottery is experiencing a steady trade and the availability of an excellent coffee shop with homemade salads adds to the popularity of the renowned pottery. Moth to a Flame continues to flourish and in nearby Stoneyford, Jerpoint Glass Studio offers visitors the opportunity to see the glass being made and this facility is free to all groups.
Thomastown Youth Theatre Camp - There are still some places available for young people in the area who are interested in drama & theatre. Youth Theatre Camp facilitated by Barnstorm Theatre Company is open to everyone regardless of experience from Mon 16th to Fri 20th July. Ages 10 to 13 will meet in the morning and 14 to 18 year olds will have their session in the afternoon. Each group will work towards a short performance to share with family & friends on the last day. All sessions will be delivered with fun& enjoyment high on the agenda!
