Karate Club - Classes in Karate for Kids will resume in Danesfort Community Centre on Tuesday 4th September 2012 and will run on an on-going basis every Tuesday from 4pm - 5pm. The ‘After-School’ Kids Only Karate Class is for boys and girls aged between 4 years and 12 years old. Members of the club will be taught karate techniques and self-defence drills. There will also be a strong focus on physical fitness. Plenty of fun and games will also be incorporated in to the classes.Karate has many proven benefits for kids both physical and mentally. Physical Benefits:Better movement and control,Improved flexibility,Increased fitness,The ability to protect oneself. Psychological Benefits: Improved confidence, become more assertive, improved self-esteem. The first class is free of charge for all new students interested in trying out karate. DANESFORT MOTHER AND TODDLER - Meet every Monday in Danesfort Community Centre at 10.30am. Next Monday 24th September, Catriona from The Loughboy Library will visit to give advice on appropriate reading and storytelling for your children. All mothers, fathers, carers with their little toddlers are welcome to join. It is a friendly, casual morning where you and your children can come and make new friends. Yoga - Danesfort Community Centre every Tuesday at 10.00am. Yoga will increase your flexibility and improve muscle tone, breathing and body posture. One can start yoga at any age. Bridge Classes - Will start in Danesfort Community Centre on Tuesday 9th October at 8.00pm – 10.00p and run for 11 weeks with Bridge Teacher – Annette Kennedy who is a Member of C.B.A.I. Bridge Teachers Association. A knowledge of cards is not necessary. Playing regularly keeps your memory active and brain alert.
