PROVINCIAL TITLE WINNERs - Clogh handball club team of 4 beat Coolboy, County Wicklow in the Leinster Intermediate club championship final. The Clogh team was William Love, Daniel Love, Colm Love and Andrew Lawlor. With the end of another highly successful year coming to a close the club is planning for it’s various local tournaments beginnining with the Eddie Somers tournament and the Florrie McCarthy juvenile tournament. The handball club AGM will be held on Monday 3 December in the Cloneen Clubrooms.

HURLING - Cloneen Hurling Club hold ‘Last Man Standing’ commencing weekend 24/25 November. €10 entry free and pick a team to win from the Premier League. If team wins the first week you must pick a different team for next week, you may not pick the same team twice, if team loses or draws you are out. Cloneen Hurling Club will hold an Auction and Draw on Sunday 24th February 2013 in the Cloneen club. All donations accepted and welcome.

Both Cloneen and Railyard GAA clubs came together last Thursday night for a seminar with Conor Denief (County Board PRO) and John Comerford (Development Officer) on the subject of drawinh up a 5 year development plan for the GAA in the parish.

The clubs have already come together at under age level. and on Saturday in St. James’ Park the Clogh / Moneenroe under 14 team won the 13 aside county final beating Carrickshock 5-12 to 2-0.

COMMUNITY ALERT - With the approach of Christmas and winter, Clogh Community Alert continues to advise residents to keep an eye out for their neighbours especiall elderly people living alone. While things have been relatively quiet lately the group urges everyone to be vigilant and to continue to report anything they consider suspicious.

Clogh Community Council will hold a free barbeque in Ryans on Saturday 1 December to thank all who have supported their activities in the recent
past. They were very pleased with the turnout for their first Sunday Bingo recently and intend to run another on Sunday 16 December..The council is currently seeking funding for the provision of a children’s playground beside the walking track.

Plans are in hand to provide toilets in the existing shed in the Plots.

McCarthy CUP VISIT - The All Ireland senior hurling trophy, the Liam McCarthy Cup made a welcome visit to St.Patrick’s National School, Clogh andto Moneenroe National School last week. The cup which Kilkenny won for a record 34th time in September was accompanied by the very popular nine times All Star Tommy Walsh.
