Kilmacow Soccer Club - UNDER 14 De La Salle 1 Kilmacow 4

After six weeks without a match, for various reasons, our under 14s eventually got to play. They travelled to De La Salle and returned with the points after a great 4-1 victory. It was a horrible day for football but our lads put in great effort and were rewarded with goals from David Costelloe (2), Evan Duggan and Dale Carroll Morrow. Fintan did really well in goal for the first time this season in a match where the whole squad played their part.

KILMACOW: Fintan Leech; Kevin O’Mara, Oisín O’Dwyer, Cormac Suffin, Jake Harney; Evan Duggan, David Costelloe, Dale Carroll Morrow, Rory Leech, Colm Dolan, Shane Irish.

Res.: Daniel Maher, Niall Bowe, Patrick Connolly.

UNDER 12

Park Rangers 1 Kilmacow 1

This was a good, tight match. While our boys are disappointed at not bringing home all three points, a point away from home is never a bad result. The lads started well and were soon in the lead. Following good work from Keith Butler and Darragh Mc Donald the ball broke for Conor Lyons to score. Another goal would have put the lads in control but it never came. The home side got back in the game and enjoyed good possession at times. It was delicately poised during the second half. Park Rangers got the equaliser during this period. The game was there to be won. Pádraig Dempsey’s wonderful shot off the bar nearly did it. The home side came close before the finish. On a day when we didn’t get the rub of the green including a couple of inexplicable decisions not going our way we had to settle for the point.

KILMACOW: Dylan Moore; Brian O’Mara, Pádraig Dempsey, Patrick Dollard (Capt.), Keith Butler; Conor Lyons, Dean Scully, Tom Butler, Tom Costelloe; Robin Davis, Darragh McDonald.

Res.: Sean Blanchfield, Brandon Walsh, Fergal Suffin, Kieran Wallis.
