Congratulations to the Emeralds U-12 Camogie team on a marvellous victory over a brave St. Anne’s (Johnstown/Galmoy) team in the County Final played in Tullaroan recently. The final score was Emeralds 7-06, St. Anne’s 4-00. It was an evenly contested match but on the day Emeralds had the greater scoring power. The team was: Courtney Neary, Laura Power, Emma Dunphy, Clodagh Ahern, Sophie Pembroke, Rachel Butler, Emily Kavanagh, Kathryn Quinn, Megan Ryan(capt), Rachel Hawkes, Emma Phelan, Leagh Phelan Mia Ryan, Lyka Gelbelingo, Ruth Ryan, Cora Norton, Aisling Hickey, Kathlyn Cleere, Lucy Kavanagh and Louise Wellwood. Everyone on the team played to their full potential and all substitutes played and contributed greatly to the team performance. This team has trained extremely hard since last March and they have progressed significantly during the season. They have a very bright future and further honours are not far away. Sincere thanks must go to the parents for their continued support and encouragement during the year. A special word of thanks to Anna Mockler Ryan of “Anna Danielle Hair Salon” on sponsoring a new set of U-12 jerseys, which were presented to the team at the U-12 Blitz held in Urlingford in June.
