Lisdowney take on James Stephens in the semi-final of the Junior hurling championship in Nolan Park at 3pm on Sat afternoon. We would encourage as many people as possible to come out an support the team.

Lisdowney travelled to Urlingford on Saturday afternoon to take on the Fenians in the 1/4 final of the Minor Roinn B championship. Lisdowney got off to a great start and lead the game 1-06 to 0-02 and half time. After the break Johnstown came back into the game and narrowed the lead to 3 point but the Lisdowney men held firm and were worthy winners on a scoreline of 2-09 to 1-08. U14 Hurling

Emeralds visited Lisdowney on Sunday morning to play the 1/4 final of the Roinn B shield. The home side won this game 4-17 to 5-08 and now look forward to a semi final next weekend. The winning numbers in last week’s (Monday, 23rd September 2013) Lisdowney GAA and Camogie Club lotto draw were 10,13,14,15.

Lisdowney Comhaltas classes take place every Thursday at 7.30pm. Anyone interested in introducing their children to traditional music instruments. Ages young to 18. Limited number of places available for new pupils. Further details available on the night.

Carer of the Year

Congratulations to Annie McGree won the final of Carer of the Year on the 20th September in Dublin.

Lisdowney Badminton club nights have resumed on Mondays from 8pm. All welcome.

Pilates classes have started back in Clontubrid. Teenage beginner class at 5.30pm and Teenager Improvers at 6.30pm on Mondays. Men’s class begins 7pm on Tuesday and Ladies Beginner clasess at 8.00pm on Tuesday, 7.00pm on Wednesday and 11.15 on Friday. Improvers / Intermediate class is on Wednesday at 8.15pm. LADIES NIGHT - A ladies night, in aid of Cancer Research, is to be organised for mid October. All Ladies in the parish, or from the parish who are running their own business, be it a small cottage industry, a skill or service, or a big business, or if they work for a local business, are invited to come together in the Community centre and present their businesses on an open night for ladies. This is to be a celebration for all ladies in the parish, and will hopefully be a fun night. Age Friendly

Kilkenny Age Friendly County programme is available to provide ‘Ageing with Confidence’ in your area. The eight weeks workshop is a personal development programme designed to help people over 55 explore their ageing process. The programme is run by two trained facilitators and looks at all aspects of ageing including physical, emotional and intellectual.
