Chernobyl-On Sunday 10 February there will be a fundraiser night held in Eamon Irish’s (Knocktopher). It will be an open music session with Noddy, Smiggy and Andy. There will also be a big raffle with great prizes to be won. Please come along to support a worthy cause.
Valentines-A Fundraiser is being held in Langton’s in Kilkenny on Valentines Night in aid of the Carlow Kilkenny Home Care Team. Over the past two years through this event in excess of €26,500 has been raised which goes to help the terminally ill. The event is a 4 course meal, Band (Marble City Sounds) and DJ in Langton’s, Kilkenny. Tickets priced at €30 are available from Langton’s and Committee Members: Aine Fitzgerald, Kevin Fennelly and Mary Harrington. If anyone would like to help out and cannot attend on the night all donations are gratefully accepted. Once again Mr. Brendan Hennessy has come on board as MC and Mr. Andy O’Keeffe is their Auctioneer on night.

Camogie-Following the recently held AGM of the Ballyhale Camogie association there have been a number of new Officers appointed/elected. Teresa Donnelly is the new Chairperson and Bernie Corcoran will be the new Secretary. They join others already elected to serve as officer s and the new committee. Together they will have a challenge to do as well with the club as the outgoing Officers. No doubt they are all up to it and will have the best interests of the club uppermost in their minds.
Shamrocks-The AGM of the Shamrocks GAA Club was held recently in Ballyhale with refreshments afterwards in Andy’s. (Re) Elected were Michael Fennelly (Chair), Sean O’Sullivan (Secretary), John Kennedy (Treasurer) while the club has a new PRO in Liam Grant. Liam takes over from PM O’Sullivan who was the PRO for the past two years.
A range of membership prices (slightly different from last years) is available to players, students, couples and families. Please enquire form the Secretary, Treasurer or committee members.
The Club’s footballers played the first round of the Intermediate League against Black and Whites in Tom Walsh Park last weekend. They won 2-7 to 1-6 so well done to all involved there.
Shamrocks are in the same group in the Senior Hurling League as O’Loughlin’s, Clara, Danesfort, Erin’s Own and Dicksboro.

Juveniles-The AGM of the Shamrocks Juvenile Club was held recently. The new Officer Board will consist of Noreen Malone (Chair), Siobhan Kennedy (Secretary), Kathleen Fitzpatrick (Treasurer), Eddie Devereaux (Vice-chair). John Shortall will manage the U14’s while Tommy Phelan and sean Reid will manage both the U16’s and minors. Managers will pick their own selectors.
