Soccer -Thomastown United Junior A side were back to winning ways last Sunday morning when the beat Lions Fc of Durrow 4-1 in United Park. On the mark for Thomastown was Aaron Broaders who struck a hat-trick and if quickly climbing to the top of the Golden Boot list and Eamon Lyster.

The Junior B side didn’t have the same luck as the Junior A side when they went down 3-0 to River Rangers in Kilmanagh.

The Over 35’s lost 1-0 at home to Parkville Utd in the Carlow League.

Thomastown Utd Under 14’s progress to the Last 16 of the SFAI National Cup when the travelled to Cork last Sunday and bet Blarney Utd 2-0 with Stevie Wemyss & Brian Staunton. Next up for Thomastown is another away trip to Killarney, Kerry to take on Ballyhar Dynamo’s.

Camogie - Following the AGM of Thomastown Camogie Club the following officers were elected: Helen Farrell Chairperson, Anne Donnelly Secretary, Seamus Quigley Treasurer and Lesley Roche PRO. The board members thanked all those who attended and look forward to a successful new year.

Thomastown GAA Club and Camogie Club dinner dance will take place on Friday 22nd March in The Springhill Court Hotel.

Open Meeting-The open meeting will be held on Wednesday 6th February in Thomastown Community Concert Hall from 6.30pm – 8.00pm. Everyone from the Thomastown and local community is invited to find out more about the plans for the Sessions House Arts Centre. This is a community arts centre and the organisers would encourage anyone who is interested in attending to come along to the meeting.

The first stage drawings of the purposed plans for The Sessions House will be presented by Alice Bentley from Blackwood and Associates Architects and ideas for fundraising will also be discussed at the meeting. Thomastown Community Centre - The committee of Thomastown Community Centre have launched their fund raising inicative. they will call to evey house in the parish and drop their brochure for you to read, they will call back one week later. we hope you will support their endeavour to provide you with a centre that we can be proud of. Anyone wishing to view the plans for the refurbrishment programme due to take place at the community cente may do so by calling to the centre to view the plans on the notice board outside the centre.
