Kilmacow - Safety in the home meeting

South Kilkenny Historical Society - The annual general meeting of the South Kilkenny Historical Society will be held in the Parish Hall, Mullinavat at 8.00pm on Thursday, 14th February. The meeting will review a very busy year for the society which included trips to Dublin and Newgrange, an outing to Tybroughney Castle and six high quality lectures. The AGM will also feature two more in the Radharc documentary series.

The society will host a lecture on the Rural Electrification of Ireland by Brendan Delaney (ESB) at 8.00pm on Thursday, 28th February. Rural electrification was one of the most progressive programmes ever undertaken in Ireland and the lecture will place particular emphasis on the impact that it had on households in South Kilkenny.

Safety in the home - The local guild of the ICA has invited Garda John Cashman to give a talk on safety in the home at 9.00pm on Thursday, 7th February in the Community Centre, Kilmacow. Everyone is welcome to attend.

Bocce Club - A group will meet in the Nore Room in the Community Centre, Kilmacow with a view to starting a Bocce Club (a type of bowls) at 2.30pm on Thursday, 14th February. The cost is €2 with tea and snacks provided. All are welcome.

Community Creating Jobs - An initial meeting to see how local enterprise can be developed to create jobs will be held in the Suir Room in Kilmacow Community Centre at 8.00pm on Thursday, 7th February. An open invitation is extended to anyone with an idea for local enterprise or with suggestions on how jobs could be generated locally. Club Registrations - Kilmacow Camogie Club will host its registration night in the Community Centre on Friday, 8th February. The cost per member is €25 or €50 per family. This includes insurance and registration for all tournaments. New players from 6 years to adult grades and offers of help with coaching and other duties will be welcomed.

Kilmacow Hurling & Football Club will host its registration night from 7.30pm to 9.00pm on Friday, 15th February in the Community Centre. Child membership is €30, Family membership is €60, Adult membership is €40 and Adult Player membership is €60. The club would also welcome offers of support for the Kilkenny GAA Lotto and the Family Fun Race Day in aid of Kilkenny County GAA. Church Gate Collection - Enable Ireland will hold its annual church gate collection next weekend, 9th and 10th February.

Table Quiz - A table quiz in aid of Our lady’s Hospital for Sick Children will be held at 9.00pm on Friday, 22nd February in Irish’s Bar, Ballykeoghan. The cost per table of four is €20. All support welcome.

Kilmacow Lotto - The winning numbers in last week’s lotto were 2, 12, 17 and 19. There were eight Match 3 winners. The Jackpot for next Thursday night is €12,600.
