NEW BABY - Congratulations to Keith and Tricia Bradfield of Glenmore village on the safe arrival of their son, Noah.
I.C.A. - The Glenmore Guild of the I.C.A. held their Annual General Meeting last Tuesday night in the hall. There was thirteen members in attendance and apologies were received from two members. The Kilkenny Federation liaison and information officer Breda Mc Donald attended the meeting. In the election of officers it was decided that the present committee will remain for the following year. Sympathy was extended to the following; Mary Aylward of Rochestown on the death of her brother, Jimmy Heffernan, Margaret Freyne on the death of her brother in law, Trudy and Alice Duggan on the death of their brother in law, and the Vereker family on the death of their mother, Kathleen Vereker. Four members will be attending the Kilkenny Federation meeting on Thursday night( tomorrow), which is being held in Inistioge. The raffle prize winners were Kate Mernagh and Stasia Cody and the competition winners were Kathleen Cody, Breda Griffin and Mary Lynch and the next meeting is set for May 14th.
ZUMBA DANCING- Depending on the level of interests shown, there will be Zumba dancing taking place in Glenmore hall on Monday evenings. If you are interested please contact Nikki at 085 1416953, you are asked to note that classes are only open to those aged 16 and over. Zumba dancing is dance exercise to music and all are welcome to come along.
CLOTHING COLLECTION - There will be a clothing collection which is in aid of the ‘’The Education Project’’ in Kitui, Africia taking place on Thursday ( tomorrow the 18th) . All items will be collected at the hall before noon. Your support for this collection would be much appreciated.
ST.JOSEPH’s A.C. - The annual James Lawlor memorial race will be taking place on April 26th with a starting point of the Pink Rock for 7.15pm. This particular race is confined to members of the local athletic club, St. Joseph’s and the United Striders athletes. The Fit4life continues each Monday and Wednesday evening at 7.15pm and all are welcome to join the group at any stage. The area that the group access lends itself very well to the Fit4life activities, with the scenic countryside and off the N25 in Ballyverneen and Forrestalstown it is such a lovely venue for this exercise route. The indoor Irelands took place recently in Athlone and the young athletes of the boys under12’ and 13’s represented St. Joseph’s in great fashion and can be very proud of their achievements at the All-Irelands. Well done lads. Regarding the second year event of the Pink Rock 10k run you are asked to take note that it will be taking place on June23rd. This race is open to all runners and walkers and you can register on www.runireland.com
SYMPATHY - On the recent passing of her mother, Mrs Kathleen Vereker( nee Purcell of Kilbraghan, Tullogher) of Assumption Place, Rosbercon, Tullogher sympathy is extended to Rita Roche of Rathinure, Glenmore at this time. May she rest in peace.
