A lot can be done with your help. Reminder to all residents that this year’s Litter Challenge, commenced on June 3 and judging will be on a regular basis until the end of July. We ask residents to keep their area litter free at all times as judges will call to all areas without giving notice. We also ask all publicans to keep cigarette butts free from in front of their premises. Last year Durrow received the highest marks in the County in this competition. Great credit to everyone involved and keep up the good work.

We also encourage the participation of residents in putting out hanging baskets and window boxes as it improves the appearance of our town for residents and visitors alike over the summer months. It will also help gain marks in the National Tidy Towns Competition. Judges will be visiting towns from the first of June onwards without notice so we all need to keep up a high standard of cleanliness and floral display!
