SENSE & SENSIBILITY

The wonderful Chapterhouse Theatre Company return to Ballykeeffe Amphitheatre on Friday, 12 July with Sense & Sensibility, a novel by Jane Austin and was in fact her first published work in 1811. It was originally titled ‘A Lady’ and is a romantic fiction about 2 sisters - Marianne and Elinor Dashwood and their lives following their move to a small cottage in the south west of England between 1792 and the love and heartbreak they find.

The book has been adapted numerous times for both television and film - the most well known being the 1995 move with Emma Thompson.

Keeping the authenticity to a maximum Chapterhouse Theatre Company prides itself on producing traditional and accessible theatre in the open-air and has received critical acclaim across England and Europe in its 13 years touring history.

Every show is beautifully costumed with attention to detail and period, and features enchanting accompanied singing performed live by wonderful casts year in, year out.
