PRESIDENT Mary McAleese will officially open the Cois Ahann community centre and GAA club house on Monday September 12.
The President will arrive in Inistioge at 3.30pm where she will welcomed by the development committee who are drove the building of the GAA and Community Centre. The new building will be used by the Rower Inistioge GAA club and managed by the Inistioge Community Council. The building comprises Dressing Rooms for the use of Rower Inistioge GAA club as well as a range of Community facilities including Function Room, Sports Hall, Gymnasium and Meeting Room.
The project took five years in all to complete and received great support from local community organizations and individuals. It would not have been possible without financial assistance from Kilkenny Leader Partnership, the Department of Arts, Sports and Tourism, Kilkenny Local Authorities and the GAA.
All are welcome to attend this momentous event in the history of the village and surrounding area. All are requested to arrive at the GAA field at 2.30pm where musical entertainment will be provided prior to the President’s arrival. The building will be open for viewing after the President’s visit and light refreshments will be served.
Parking will be sign posted, stewards will be available to assist you and the road will close for a time from 3pm so please arrive in good time.
