Eucharistic Congress-To celebrate the Eucharistic Congress, mass will be at 10 am in Millenium Garden in Cullohill on Sunday June 17. All are welcome. On Friday night there will be mass in St. Tighernachs Church Cullohill at 8 pm to celebrate the feast of the Sacred Hearth.

Angling-Durrow/Cullohill anglers are holding a trout fishing competition for the Pat Gaughan memorial cup on Sunday June 17. Fishing from 10 am. Weigh in at Durrow Inn at 6 pm. Entries taken at Lawlor’s Florists from 9.30 am. Usual rules apply

Exams-With many students from Durrow and surrounding areas sitting their leaving and junior cert exams we would like to wish them all the best in their exams and for their future lives.

Lotto-There was no Jackpot winner. Small draw winners were; 30 euro Pat Barnaville, 25 euro Ray Campion 20 euro Darragh and Oisin Conroy Next draw for a possible 1300 euro will be in Castle Arms Hotel. Tickets to be handed in by 9.30 on night of draw.

Tidy Towns-Work nights continue every Thursday night. With judging in Pride of Place competition taking place the end of June a bit more work has to be done showcasing how the people take pride in their town. Tidy Towns judging is taking place from June 1 so it is important householders and businesses to keep their areas clean.

ICA-The June meeting of Cullohill ICA was held recently in the Community Centre. Vote of sympathy and prayers were offered for the soul of Patty Fitzpatrick . Ar ndeis De go Raibh a hanan Dilish . congratulations were extended to Kathleen Gorman on her new appointment and the guild members wish her the best of luck in her new appointment. Presentations were made to Nancy, Mary and Ann , outgoing officers for their three years of service. Ann Betty and Brigit will serve the guild for the next three years. The Pilates classes are over for the present ,many thanks to everyone who attended and to our tutor Julie McGuire. Some members will attend federation meeting in Ballyroan. We hope that all our members will go to Knock on July 10. Nancy Phelan won the raffle and next meeting on July 3 at 8 pm.

Blood-The Blood Transfusion Mobile Unit will visit Durrow at the Castle Arms Hotel on Thursday June 28 from 5 pm to 8.30 pm . Please keep one hour free on that evening to give the greatest gift on earth” the gift of life” by donating a unit of blood. Every donation counts and yours is very important.
