D.K.K. LOTTO- The winning numbers of the August 13th draw were- 10, 11, 14. There was no jackpot winner. DUNAMAGGiN GYMKHANA -is scheduled to take place on next Sunday August 26th. The programme is due to commence at 9.30 a.m. The programme also included a dog show and Leading Rein which are scheduled for 2.00 p.m. The proceeds of the Gymkhana will again support Carlow/Kilkenny Home Care Team and St. Joseph’s Support Home for the Elderly in Kilmoganny.
ART CLASSES FOR BEGINNERS- Those who wish to begin art classes will have an opportunity commencing at the end of September in St. Leonard’s Hall, Dunamaggan when Andrew Small will conduct classes. AN INFORMATION EVENING- FOR PARENTS of pupils in Junior and/or Senior Infant Classes of St. Leonard’s School, Dunamaggan will take place on this Wednesday evening at 9.00 p.m. in St. Leonard’s Hall, Dunamaggan re the Active After School, from 2.00 p.m. – 3.00 p.m.. Registration will take place at the meeting. Even if a child only avails of the Activity occasionally it is necessary for the child to be registered. All parents of Junior and Senior Infant Pupils are invited to the information evening. Tea/Coffee and refreshments will be provided.
KELLS HANDBALL CLUB- In the County 60 x 30 championships in the Intermediate Singles Peter Funchion (Kells) defeated John Morrissey (O’Loughlin’s); in the Ladies B Singles Final Denise Doyle (St. Canice’s) defeated Marie Walsh (Kells); in the Senior B Singles Final Shem Kelly (Mothel) defeated Ger McGrath (Kells).
In the Adult 60 x 30 All Ireland Finals in the Under 21 Singles Patrick Funchion (Kells) defeated Seamus O’Conghaile (Galway). In the Juvenile 60 x 30 All Ireland Finals in the Boys Under 14 Singles Roy Cullen (Kells) came up against tough opposition and was defeated by Sean Kerr (Tyrone). Congratulations on reaching the finals.
DUNAMAGGiN WIN LEAGUE FINAL- Dunamaggan U 14 Hurling Team played Bennettsbridge in the County League hurling Final in Thomastown on Thursday 9th August. Bennettsbridge got off to a great start scoring the first point of the game. Dunnamaggin responded well with a point from Conor Lawlor. Dunnamaggin took control of the game with two goals from Roy Cullen and points from Dara Keane and Victor Costello. Bennettsbridge replied with a goal and then Ian Walsh got Dunnamaggin third goal and another point from Rory Lodge left Dunnamaggin ahead at half time.
Dunnamaggin started the second half well with points from Conor Lawlor and Rory Lodge. Bennettsbridge were never going to give up and netted a goal from a 21 yard free. Dunnamaggin responded well with another goal from Roy Cullen giving Dunnamaggin a comfortable lead. Dunnamaggin finished strong with another goal from Conor Lawlor and points from Rory Lodge and Conor Lawlor. The final score was 5 - 08 to 2 - 03.
