ALL IRELAND - FINAL BECKONSThree bus loads left the Parish early Sunday morning to head to Croke Park and it must be said we were hopeful more than we were confident but what an atmosphere at Croke Park with over 50,000 in the stadium and what a match. There was just a point between the teams at half time but Kilkenny were in flying form but who could have thought we would beat Tipperary by double scores. Before Croke Park the under 8’s of Barrow Rangers and the u 12’s played in Marley Park against Ballinteer and all the team and the two bus loads of supporters were really well looked after by the host club with teas, coffees, sandwiches, minerals, crisps and cakes so thank you to them, it set us up for the day. Now the scramble for tickets will take place for the All-Ireland Final, it’s an expensive day out when all the family want to go but for atmosphere alone and the sense of occasion it is well worth it.

FIRST ALL IRELAND MEDAL FOR SEAN- This weekend saw the Juvenile Handball All-Ireland finals take place in Co.Monaghan. In the U15 D grade Goresbridge clubman Sean Carey and partner Dylan Caulfield (Kilfane) took on Tyrone. The lads got off to a good start taking the first game 15-11. The second was a closer affair with the Tyrone lads serving at 14- 14 , but Kilkenny got them out and went on to win 15-14. A great win for Sean and Dylan , all their work has paid off. Sean has been playing with Goresbridge for about 5 yrs now and it is great to see him get his first All Ireland Medal. Well done lads.
