K.O.G.G.S - The Kate O,Grady Golf Society held their Presidents Prize(Michael Raggett) outing recently at Rathdowney Golf Club. The following were the winners. 1st Jimmy Dunne, Kells. 2nd Mick Murphy, Kells. 3rd Michael Phelan, Rathduff. 4th Kane Ryan, Thomastown, 5th Mick Murphy Stoneyford,and the Past Presidents prize was won by St. John Donovan, Lawcus Fields. Next outing is on September 24.

Bereavement- The death occurred at Drakelands Nursing Home Kilkenny of Mrs Esse Layton, Johnswell, Stoneyford. In her 99th year, Esse came to Stoneyford in the late fifties or early sixties and quickly became part of the community. She was an avid photographer and could always be seen at local events with her camera, recording the local people at fundraising events or parties. She was a member of Kilkenny Photography Society and a very involved member of Kilkenny Archeological Society. She was also instrumental in forming a youth club in the area when she first arrived. She was laid to rest on Monday in St. Peters Cemetery Ennisnag. She is survived by her three sons, Stephen, Patrick and James. Ar Dheis De go raibh a hanam.

Stagedoor Registration Night- Registration for the coming season Stagedoor classes will be held on Thursday August 30 from 7.30 to 8.30 in Stoneyford Community Centre. All present members and intending members are invited to attend.

Happy Birthday- Congratulations to Rob Lee who celebrated his 30th Birthday with a party for friends and relations in Malzards Stoneyford recently.

Relay For Life -is coming to Kilkenny. What is Relay For Life? At Relay For Life hundreds of people gather to embark on a very special 24-hour journey.Relay For Life is an overnight , community celebration and a unique , empowering and fun event. At the heart of Relay is the oppurtunity to CELEBRATE Cancer Survivors and to REMEMBER those who have left us. We are currently asking people who may have been touched in any way by cancer to come and join in the CELEBRATION . Our Relay For Life will be held on Saturday and Sunday the 20th and 21st of July , 2013 at Scanlon Park , Kilkenny. We are recruiting teams of volunteers who will walk around the track in relay , for 24 hours , because cancer never sleeps!!. Otherwise team members are free to socialise , have fun and enjoy the fun packed day and entertainment.
