CASS TAMES THE LIONS - Deen Celtic Youths ended 2012 with probably their most important win to date. League leaders The Lions of Durrow were visitors to the Prince Grounds on Saturday for the top of the table clash. Celtic made a bright start and the diminutive Liam Cass deservedly put them ahead. The home side appeared to rest on their laurels in the second period and can thank keeper Willie Johnson for a couple of out of the top drawer saves. The Lions attacked incessantly and were rewarded with 10 minutes to go with the equalizer. As a draw was no use to the home side Celtic threw caution to the wind and with time almost up Liam Cass was in the right place at the right time for an opportunist winner. This win was a welcome boost for team manager Darragh Stone and his Albanian coach Claudio but no doubt the pair will know only too well if they fail to win the remaining three games their supreme efforts of Saturday will be in vain. On an optimistic note several of the Celtic Youths also feature at U-16 level.
