Stoneyford: Stephen’s day run a great success

Stoneyford 5k - The 5 run in Stoneyford on St. Stephen’s Day was a great success. Although the weather conditions were’nt good almost 300 runners and walkers braved the elements to support the local Soccer Club. Neil O’Grady, Chairman of the Club would like to thank all who helped : To the committee members who worked hard from early morning to set everything up, to the Ladies of the catering committee and to all who looked after roads and parking, especially those not directly involved in the club, it could’nt be done without their support, to Martin Raggett for the “Shotgun Start” and for all his hard work in the week before the race. A special word of thanks to Fred Malzard for his organization in the months leading to the race and on the day. It was an extremely well run event. To all who sponsored Prizes and Spot prizes, it was very much appreciated. Finally a big congratulations to all who took part especially the winners: Mens: Ist. Brian Maher, 2nd Tom Hogan, 3rd Pedro Carvo. Ladies: 1st Niamh Henderson. 2nd Adele Walsh. 3rd Donna Dowling. Looking forward to seeing you all next year!
