GREYHOUND NIGHT MOVED-Because of the brilliant win in the Kilkenny Feile na nGael by the O’Loughlin Gaels Under 14 team, the scheduled night for the annual Club fundraiser at Kilkenny Greyhound Track has been put back a fortnight. The new date will now be Friday July 19th. Tickets were already printed but thanks to Kilkenny Greyhound Track a new date was found. As with other years, the Club committee of Michael Mahony,Joe Nolan,Ben Fogarty and the driving forces behind this mammoth task, Richie Kearns and Richie Moylan, will endeavour to call on every house in St. John’s Parish looking for support to run the club for another year. The club and the clubhouse are there for the people of the Parish to use and frequent. The Committee are continuously trying to make the Club a more Parish/Community based Club. This annual fundraiser maintains the club’s finances for the year and thus the club is able to provide such fantastic facilities for its players and supporters. The Club would like to thank all the people who have supported the venture previously - your contributions are there for all to see at St. John’s Park, and look forward to meeting new and old friends calling door to door over the next few weeks.

UNDER 14s GOING WELL-The O’Loughlin Gaels Under 14 team are playing lots of matches at the moment. The team heading to Feile na nGael play in Roinn A and have 6 points from 4 games. Their one loss was to James Stephens in a brilliant match last Monday night. The Village were 5 ahead at the break but the Feile Champions fought back bravely to enter the last five minutes a goal ahead. The Village goaled and a brilliant point from their half forward put them in front by two at the finish. The Under 16 team league match against Dicksboro earlier in the month was a great game and this match was just as good. Well done to two excellent group of hurlers. No fear for the future of Kilkenny Hurling !

The O’Loughlins boys didn’t have it all their own way against Thomastown either fighting hard to win by a goal at the end. Team manager Maurice Nolan with selectors Sheamie Cummins,Bryan Skehan, Stephen Murphy and Mick Nolan will leave no stone unturned in preparation for Feile. All in the Club, Parish and County wish them and the team well.
