Dungarvan: Support local charities

LOCAL SUPPORT FOR FRONTLINE CHARITIES IS LAUDED - In very recent times charitable fundraising events have been held in Dungarvan. Last wekend Joan Cleere ran a Fancy Dress / Charity Auction / Music night in aid of the Carlow /Kilkenny Homecare Team. This event raised a staggering E 2,000 for the charity. Some weeks before that Toss and Agnes Kane organised a “Man v Machine Challenge and a tractor run in aid of the O’Neill Centre. This event added a substantial E 1,600 to the charity’s coffers. Both charities are eternally grateful to the organizers and the generous people who donated to their fund. Sadly such wonderful frontline caring groups have to depend on charitable donations for a considerable percentage of the cost of providing what might be classed as essential services, that might be provided by our Government.Thank God for the generous Irish.
