Emerald’s Hurling Club will hold a BBQ for the Launch of the Lord Mayor of Urlingford in Hayes’s Bar on Saturday, 17th August. Tickets: E5. Great night guaranteed.

Walk starts at picnic tables in Maudlin Street (Bottom of hill near motor tax offices) at 11am sharp, Registration at 10.30am. €10 entrance fee which goes directly to the charity. Urlingford. Graveyard Masses, Graine Cemetery Friday, August 16 at 7.30pm; Mill Cemetery, Saturday, August 24 at 7pm. There will be refreshments served following both masses in the respective halls. There will also be a photographic display in both halls. As the proposed publication of the history of Urlingford will not be ready it is hoped to have some promotional material ready for distribution and perhaps a few words from the author. On this weekend we also hope to host an U12 hurling tournament, field day and hopefully a re-enactment of a Fair Day. We’re also looking at the possibility of holding a fun walk along the Islands walk route. More details to follow.
URLINGFORD PRE-SCHOOL FOR LITTLE LEARNERS
Old School. Starting up new afternoon sessions from September 2013. (Morning sessions stay as they are).
Monday to Thursday from 12:30pm to 4:00pm (extra half hour). For children from the age two and six months upwards. Afternoon sessions are also for children who qualify for the free pre-school ECCE scheme. For fee paying children the cost will be €11 per afternoon. The max number of children for the afternoon is twelve a ratio of one adult to six children. A high scope curriculum will be in place for children at all developmental levels, and a high scope information night will be held at the old school for all parents during September.
