Kilkenny Hurlers Race Day - The Kilkenny senior hurlers will host a Family Race Day on Saturday, March 23 in Gowran Park. The event is a celebration of Kilkenny’s achievement of winning six of the last seven All-Ireland Finals. The races are named after Kilkenny Hurling legends such as Henry Shefflin, Noel Hickey, Tommy Walsh, JJ Delaney, Jackie Tyrrell, last year’s captain Eoin Larkin and manager Brian Cody.

Tickets purchased through the local GAA Club will cost €10 each or €15 on the gate on the day. Tickets available from GAA Club officials. There will be loads of activities on the day for all Family members, so an ideal opportunity to have an enjoyable days racing and also support the Kilkenny senior hurling team.

GAA Club Player Registration and Membership - Registration for all juvenile and adult team members will take place during the coming week on Thursday, March 21 in Rower clubhouse from 7.30pm – 8.30pm and also on Friday night March 22 in Cois Abhann from 7.30 – 8.30pm. The closing date for all player registrations for 2013 is March 28.

€1,000 goes to Cullintra - The first Draw in the Monthly Development Draw that is organised by The Rower-Inistioge GAA Club, Inistioge Community Council and the Camogie Club was held recently in Cois Abhann. The first prize of €1,000 was won by Anna Galavan from Cullintra with 2nd prize of €500 to Pat Walsh of Ballygub. The organising Committee of the Monthly Draw would like to than all of the many people who have supported the 2013 Draw and to wish all the best of the lucks in the remaining draws throughout 2013.

TIDY TOWNS - Inistioge Tidy Towns AGM takes place on Thursday, March 21 in the Community Hall at 8pm. All are very welcome to attend. More community involvement is needed to help with the work. The main aim is to achieved a considerable improvement in the marks, as next year the group celebrate their 50th anniversary of Inistioge’s entry to the Tidy Towns Competition.

FIANNA FAIL - The Inistioge Cumann held their AGM recently. There was a good attendance. Guest speakers were Liam Aylward MEP and Sean Treacy MCC. Liam impressed on the members the importance of the annual subscription with regard to voting. He also gave a progress report on CAP Reform.

Sean Treacy gave an update on County Council funding and road improvements in the area. He said funding has been allocated to upgrade the water supply in the Inistioge area. A vote of sympathy was extended to the Kennedy family on the death of Mick.

Officers elected were as follows: Presidents Sean Roche and Ned Naddy, Chairman Dick Tierney, Vice Chairman Richard Proctor, Secretary Tom Treacy, Treasurer Micheal Roche, Membership Officer Declan Byrne.

ICA TABLE QUIZ - The ICA are holding a table quiz on Friday, April 5 in Cois Abhainn at 8pm. Proceeds will go to the community centre fund. Your support would be very much appreciated.
